HOW TO BEGIN FILMS~

WHAT EXACTLY IS A FILM OPENING?

Beginning a film~

A film opening is the initial sequence of scenes that appear at the beginning of a movie or film. It has plenty of key functions in the narrative and filmmaking that include:
  1. Setting/Tone/Mood:

The opening sequence establishes the overall mood of the film. It sets the vibe for the audience whether it's suspenseful, romantic, comedic, or dramatic etc.

      2.Introducing key Elements:

This involves introducing characters, setting, time period, and other important aspects of the story that are included in the structure and are apart of the narrative. These are crucial for the audience so they understand the film.

      3.Setting up a central theme:

Filmmakers often use the opening as a hint or practically set up themes or visual motifs that will be explored throughout the film. This gives the audience a perspective and they begin to expect and observe.

      4.Catching the Audience’s Attention

A gripping or visually impressive opening can captivate the audience's interest right from the start so its important to have an opening that includes attractive elements that catch the audience's eyes right away.

      5.The Plot:

In some film openings, the sequence introduces a key event or conflict in the start that drives the plot forward through out the whole movie. This is another way of making sure your work is attracting audience.

Overall, a film opening is a creative way that brings forward the various elements of media in a striking yet captivating way so that the audience can be entertained or informed through the content.
