Studying about Cinematic Lightning!
💡Cinematic Lightning!💡

There are a total of 7 initial steps to achieve cinematic lighting...
1) Shooting shadow side:
This means the shadows should be on the subject's face while you shoot! and the camera should be positioned in a way that is opposite to light.
2)Lighting Direction:
Up above direction = depressed/shadowy mood or tone.
Low angle: shadows will reverse / villainy look
If the light is shone at a 45° angle, it creates a triangle for a perfect shadow, giving the shot a natural look. The person should be Shot from the shorter side.
This is similar to the "Rembrandant" lighting technique which also uses the contrast of shadows and light to achieve cinematography!
3) Depth :
This basically means separating the subject from the background(Using colors).
Orange-teel gradient gives a blockbuster look. These are 2 complementary colors
If a darker background is used than the subject, it gives attention to the subject adding to the cinematic effect.
A whiter shirt usage = dark background usage.
This is usually done in horror films to draw attention to the subject and portray terror.
4) Motivated lighting:
This means light that is motivated to show on screen so the audience knows the light source.
Usage of motivated lights and a directed source adds to the cinematography as well.
5) Background lightning:
Adding some sort of light in the background fulfills it by brightening the image and making it more pleasing to the eyes.
6) Time of day :
Golden hour is the best time of day to shoot. There are no harsh shadows and shooting into the sun gives a beautiful lens flare.
7) Eye light / catch light:
When Light hits in the eyes directly.
Capturing the camera's light in the eyes.
